The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has reminded clients who have already applied for reconsideration, to apply for reconsideration for every month their application was declined.
Sassa said, ‘Declined applicants who already lodged reconsideration applications should continue to lodge reconsideration requests for each month they are declined’.

How To Apply For SRD SASSA Reconsideration Online
Just follow the below steps to apply for SRD SASSA Reconsideration & Check status online.
Visit the SRD Website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za
- Step 1: Scroll the pages then click on the “Apply Online/ Check Reconsideration Status” tab.
- Step 2: You will be asked to provide your ID number and Mobile number. Enter the South African Id number of Applicant then Enter the Phone Number used to submit your Application
- Step 3: Follow the prompts to complete the reconsideration of your payment. Then Click on the “Send Pin” button.
How To Submit A Reconsideration Request Via Telephone
- Step 1: Call Sassa on 0800 60 10 11
- Step 2: Select option 3
- Step 3: Speak to the Sassa consultant to lodge your reconsideration request.
Sassa has notified clients that they are currently experiencing a delay in the reconsideration requests. The agency says they are working tirelessly to resolve the matter.
