HESLB opens the appeal window for seven days until November 20. 68,422 first-year students have been assigned loans.
November 13, 2022 Higher Education Student Loans Board (HESLB) has announced the opening of an appeal window to provide an opportunity for students who were not satisfied with the loan Allocation they were assigned to submit confirmation information to improve their allocation according to their needs.
Executive Director of HESLB, Abdul-Razaq Badru the appeal window will be open for seven (07) days from today, November 13 to 20 this year and appeals from students should be submitted online. “Until today (November 13, 2022), we have arranged loans for about 68,422 first-year students and we are aware that there are students who, for various reasons, did not complete the necessary documents to prove their need, the appeal window is an opportunity for them,” said Badru.
According to Badru, the aim is to provide loans to 71,000 new students in the academic year 2022/2023 and urge students who submit appeals to read and follow the instructions on the system for submitting appeals. Regarding payment, Badru has said that HESLB started sending funds to colleges even before the students arrived at the colleges and that the work is continuous and advised the students assigned loans to go to the loan officers of their colleges to complete the procedures of receiving the money.
“When a student sees that he has been assigned a loan through his SIPA (Student’s Individual Permanent Account), he should go to the loan officer of his college who is there at the college to submit his bank information and receive the money,” said Badru. In addition, Badru has thanked higher education institutions and student governments for the cooperation they provide to HESLB, which has continued to strengthen efficiency in serving students.
“In this chain of serving students, college leadership, student governments and their TAHLISO community are important stakeholders… and they have been providing us with great cooperation, we are very grateful,” said Badru.

- Step 2: Click Menu (As shown below)
- Step 3: Scroll down then click the word “click to Appeal“
- Step 4: You will get a notification “You are now Eligible to Apply as appeallant, Use your credentials (Username and Password) that you used to apply for Loan” Then proceed steps provided.
