The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has released the final 2022 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination timetable.
It’s important to note that learners have just 100 days left before the important examination period begins on Monday 31 October 2022. The six week examination period will come to an end on Wednesday 7 December 2022.
More than 700,000 learners registered to participate in the 2021 Grade 12 examinations. The class of 2021 achieved a 76.4% pass rate after navigating several incredible circumstances including the Covid-19 pandemic and loadshedding during the examination season.
The 2022 October/November, National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examination Timetable follows the same format as the previous examinations with Computer Applications Technology Grade 12 (CAT) and Information Technology Grade 12 (IT) written a week before the formal commencement of the examinations. CAT and IT are scheduled to be administered on 25 and 26 October 2022, respectively.

When will the 2022 Grade 12 Final Exams Start?
The 2022 October/November, National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examination commences on 31 October 2022 and will conclude on 6 December 2022. The re-write opportunity for CAT and IT will take place on 07 December 2022.
Subjects and NSC marks Grading System.
Subjects are all taken on the same level – there is no higher or standard grade as in the past. The official pass grade is 40%. from zainfo.co.za,The mean mark in any subject is usually about 55. You need to pass (5) five subjects out of the (6) subjects to pass your Adult Matric Course. This is what your final matric marks should look like for the Adult Matric Course:

- 30 % for (3) other subjects
- You may fail (1) one subject, however, it should not be lower than 20%
